ETF Options Optimizer
I am near completion of writing an application that will provide me with optimum returns by trading derivatives on some exchange traded funds. The system is completely automated. At a push of a couple of buttons, my app scans all the ETFs that trade options and finds optimum returns 30, 60, 90, 120 days out [...]

Expedia Update Q2
Expedia beat Wall Street expectations today and the stock jumped 12% to $15.47. Things are looking bright as 20 millions shares were bought back and an additional 20 million shares will be bought back in the near future. The third quarter might be a little less enticing because of events in London today and a [...]

OptOutPreScreen.com Experiment
I got the idea to run an experiement from StopBuyingCrap.com after reading about why you shouldn’t opt out of prescreen offers. Cap suggests that consumers get the best credit card offers through unsolicited mail offers. Personally, I disagree because over the last 10 years I can think of only a single instance of [...]

Fed Funds Stay at 5.25%
I wrote few weeks ago what my expectations were that the Federal Reserve would do for the remainder of the year. Below is what I called:
June 0.25% —> new rate at 5.25%
August 0.25% -> new rate at 5.5%
September —–> pause and stay at 5.5%
October 0.25% –> new rate at 5.75%
December ——–> pause and keep rate [...]

Cascading Expense Lifestyles - Ma Bell
It has been a long time since I’ve subscribed to featues such as Caller ID and Anonymous Call Rejection on my ATT land line. I cancelled all the “optional” features on my bill over 2 years ago and saw my bill drop from $40/month to $22/month. There is about $10/month in taxes, fees [...]

Oil Pipelines - Who is John Galt?
As commented earlier, I was intriqued to learn that we’ve been having blackouts in the wealthiest country on the planet. Today, we hear news that British Petroleum shut down 8% of US oil production because of leaking pipes. Is this totally absurd or what? According to the latest filings, BP made 6.11 [...]

Power Utilities - Who is John Galt?
For those of you who have never read Any Rynd’s Atlas Shrugged, I highly recommend the book. Although the book is fiction, there are some uncanny parallels to what happens to Americans in the book with what is going on in the world today. I’ve been reading about the heat wave hitting the [...]
