About a year ago, there was a big ruckus over a Pizza chain in the southwest taking Mexican currency as payment for food and service.  I distinctly recall it because it was all over talk radio and the usual talking head media channels and I had just finished taking a trip overseas when it happened.

It must be a coincidence because on my return from overseas this time, I learned shops in New York were putting up signs reading, “We Accept Euros” but I have yet to hear any “outrage” over the practice.  No calls for boycotts, legal action, protests or anything else - so far.

So what’s the difference between a Peso and a Euro?  It seems every currency is preferred these days over the good old greenback: Loonie, Sterling, Euro all welcome!

During my next performance evaluation, I’m asking my boss to pay me in gold or silver bullion.

What a world….
