I’ve spoken with a few people who’ve told me virtually the same thing about their vacation plans for the summer: No Europe! Why? The Euro is clobbering the USD and even if there is a rally in the USD, I doubt it will be significant enough to make a difference for most of my associates. Where are people planning to go? South America, Thailand, Vietnam and other spots where the USD is relatively “strong” as compared to the Euro, Sterling and Francs.
I’m not sure what I’ll do but I might hit Mexico or possibly Asia this summer but I am certain that I won’t be going to Ireland, France, Italy, Spain or other spots we’ve been wanting to travel to the past few years.
