There are too many explicit and implicit dangers of using a debit card over the VISA/MC network. The banks are doing a great job of extracting money from customers through changing terms... and VISA/MC loves the interchange fee on every signature transaction... It may be too late now, but the smart play would have been to own stock in banks and VISA/MC while they're raking in the dough... as eventually, the tide will turn. I agree.
