So Where Does Investment Research Come From?

I’ve written that I spend a great deal of time reading and analyzing data before making an investment decision. Much of my research comes from daily news feeds from around the world. One of my favorite sites is London based .
I love the site because it offers global headline snapshots from key regions: US, Europe, UK, Asia-Pacific. I usually go home for lunch and I’ll turn on CNBC or Bloomberg TV but all too often the news is slanted toward US markets. With globalization making the world a smaller place, you’d think CNBC would take a more holistic approach to reporting financial news but it’s rare. Bloomberg does a slightly better job but not much better.
I also read a few websites related to currency trading which provides a view of inflows/outflows of money from country to country, region to region. has been a currency strategist for some time now and I glance at the site periodically to get a read on the currency markets. is another great resource to get up to date information on the currency world.
When it comes to commodities, I read various sites: & (precious & base metals), (energy), (drilling/energy)
Finance.yahoo.com, SeekingAlpha.com and Bloomberg.com are part of my daily reading list.
Then there are various Central Bank websites from around the world from various countries: US (Fed), Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, ECB, BoJ and a few others which pump out various statistics.
Lastly, there are a few PFbloggers sites that I read. Occasionally, I’ll find a new website digging through various sites and I’ll added to my daily or weekly reading list.
Keep in mind that these are online websites I read, there are still other items I read weekly from various print news sources and biz journals. In order to get rich slick, you need to have an appetite for money. Live money, Drink money, Breathe money, Be money!

If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Earlier this week, I banked $4600 with ETF Covered Calls and I’ve been asked how I pick my ETFs for covered call writing. It’s pretty simple, the ETF-Cashinator does most of the work as it scans all ETFs with my special criteria and spits them out in order of highest return possibilities. I look at the top 10 then start my research. [...]

Obsess over money…

Everyone obsesses over money. Think about how many hours do you spend “working” earning “money?”
Then think about how many hours you spend doing other things.
My obsession is a means to an end: more free time!
