So you’ve finally decided to think about an exit strategy and are now worried that the systemic issues with the financial system, baby boomers, taxation, and draconian interventions into your life are cause for alarm but you’re in luck because I’ve already done some of the leg work!
While everyone’s personal tastes are different and some have different priorities than others the top 10 countries that I’d like to move to are as follows:
New Zealand – Beautiful, clean environment, good industry & jobs, and member of the common wealth of nations. Con: Middle of nowhere.
Dominican Republic – Beautiful white sand beaches, casinos, relaxed environment, cheap property. Con: Hurricane alley.
Belize – Beautiful beaches, relaxed environment, reasonable property. Con: Hurricane, no insurance.
Canada – Just like America now that the US is socialized but at least the social system in Canada favors people rather than elite rich people. Con: It gets VERY COLD in the winter.
Argentina – Thanks to the recent financial crisis down there, property is dirt cheap as is everything else. Con: Potentially unstable government if things don’t get better.
Uruguay – Beautiful beaches, beautiful people, reasonable property and “hidden” from the world. Con: Must speak Spanish.
Mexico – Just south of the border and there are already many American communities there that have already gone through the migration. Con: Pick the wrong spot and you’ll be caught in the drug feud crossfire.
Panama – Uses the US Dollar as their standard currency but doesn’t have the system issues with loose monetary policy. Low inflation, reasonable property, beautiful land. Con: Malaria!
Costa Rica – Beautiful land, beaches, and lush vegetation. Con: Property costs rising.
Thailand – Beautiful country and reasonable costs for food and housing. Con: Language culture very different.
I’ve actually visited many of these countries and plan on visiting them all at some point. I’ve also considered China, India, Middle East and parts of Africa but ran into some major issues with most of those areas when doing my research and/or visiting these locations.

You have not mentioned Malaysia(my country) or Indonesia. Our politics may be screwed up but otherwise we should fit all your tests.

Malaysia is moving towards capitalist endeavors but unfortunately, there is a good deal of radical religious beliefs that pop up every now and then that cause problems.
Other than perhaps Thailand, I don’t recall seeing radical religion or politics overtake a country in recent memory.
I do like Kuala Lampur and Singapore and would consider those places but they’re getting expensive to live in.
