Why Are Bookstores So Useless?

It’s no secret that MILLIONS of people are unemployed and many more may be losing their jobs soon so you would think that this would provide bookstore owners with a brilliant idea of stocking up their shelves with career advancing books and other training materials right?
Well you’d be wrong because I went to three different major chains of bookstores looking for some certification, training and career advancement books and they were no where to be found on the shelves. Most of the books at the bookstore were a bit old and obsolete with poor selection and availability.
Of course, by the time bookstores realize they need to stock up their shelves, the economy will have recovered and there won’t be any need for the books on the shelves. I don’t understand why it is so difficult for these large mega-corporations to react to changing demands and needs of end consumer so slowly!
So I ended up ordering the books on Amazon and paid for the two day shipping to get them as quickly as possible. So here’s a message to bookstore owners:
What’s going to be “hot” over the next twelve months:
- Training & Certification books
- Frugality and money saving books
- Escapism books
- Foreign migration books (international living books)
- Anything Do-It-Yourself books
Now go and stock up your bookshelves so you can make some money and not go bankrupt like everyone else.
