I asked AI what quality of life means to most people and here is what I got.
- Physical Health – Being free from serious illness, having access to healthcare, and feeling physically capable.
- Mental and Emotional Well-Being – Feeling emotionally balanced, having a sense of purpose, and managing stress.
- Financial Stability – Earning enough to meet basic needs, afford some comforts, and avoid constant financial stress.
- Work-Life Balance – Having time for family, hobbies, and rest, not being consumed by work.
- Relationships & Social Support – Feeling connected to others, having meaningful relationships, and community ties.
- Safety and Environment – Living in a safe, clean and stable place.
- Freedom & Autonomy – Being able to make choices about one’s life, from career to personal values.
- Personal Fulfillment – Opportunities for learning, growth, creativity and leisure.
I agree with the list although I think it left quite a few things out. But the point is to have an understanding of what your quality of life ecosystem is so that you can perform a comparative analysis and determine if your current living situation is fulfilling all of your expectations.
I have gone through a similar personal list that I’ve used to determine where I can achieve maximum quality of life that fits my criteria. Sadly, I have found that my current situation is not meeting my own expectations so change is needed.
I have alluded to this in various posts such as:
Inflation Still Out of Control
Corporate Burnout & Golden Handcuffs
I’ve Been Busy Hoarding Electronics
What They Don’t Tell You About Moving Overseas
I’m in the process of putting the final pieces of the next chapter in my life and that’s becoming time consuming so I may not be posting much for now until I clear some hurdles. Gratefully, AI is being a tremendous help so be patient and stay tuned.
