I’ve taken a look at the job market and there seems to be plenty of opportunities out there for my skill set and I’ve applied to a few interesting positions but I’ve already booked my trip to South America for the summer so I will need to pace myself on interviews and job applications. I’m in no hurry, I got a nice severance package, unemployment benefits and have other income generating sources from investments.
I was talking to a family member that runs a software company and he recently told me that he’s eliminated his graphic design contractors. AI is now generating all of his graphical images for him. He’s not the only one that is “firing” workers.

There are plenty of stories on Reddit and other outlets describing the AI bloodbath for coders. Other workers are also being hit and eventually everyone will be impact somehow.
What about robots?
The next shoe to drop so to speak will be robots taking on most trivial jobs initially then taking on other roles as they become more sophisticated. I don’t know where all of this ends up but it won’t be good for the majority of people.
