Now that I’ve switched most of my agents to DeepSeek, a new better cheaper AI model has come out called GLM 5.2 and it’s taking the AI world by storm. It is cheaper, faster and I’m already running one of my agents on it.
It’s funny but imagine if Apple, Google, and other companies came out with new cell phones every week and the new one was so good that you just had to dump the old one and go with the new one. That’s what all this AI stuff is like right now, every single week a new model, new tool, new agent or new something.
For me it’s not so much about the model but the cost. I’m doing some cool stuff and for that I’ll use the higher end models but for most everyday tasks, these Chinese models are good enough.
I’m impressed by the model and the cost but it’s only been a few hours and I’ll write more as time goes on but I am up against the clock. I’ll be leaving on a European holiday for a month or two or longer and it’s going to be hard for me to keep up with all the travel and playing with AI.
