I continue to invest time and energy in AI to help me build apps to optimize my investments. I finally got around to building a bull put credit spread app to scan data and find the best opportunities for returns or safety. Below are screen shots of the first run on April 17, 2026.
I asked AI to create the app to generate two options for each and ensure the tickers don’t overlap. From the list above, the trade I may enter in next week would be SLV. Oil is too volatile, SPY and QQQ are tempting but the market has already surged today and it’s inevitable we have some type of pull back and the conflict in the middle east can flare up at any minute.
My other apps for base put ratio spreads, net credit collars and covered calls are all generating excellent investment/trading opportunities. I’m eagerly awaiting the month and quarter to end to calculate my returns for both.
The amount of tools, innovation and AI advancement is mind-boggling and I struggle to keep up so I just try to create simple apps without all the fancy integration and fanfare. At some point, after I retire, I may add more integration but I’m happy with what I got so far.
I recently saw a commercial on TV for some “system” which I won’t name here that claims to determine what the stock market will do and a few questions came to my mind:
- If your “system” can foretell the future, why aren’t YOU (the seller) using it to become rich?
- My “system” is working ok, it’s not perfect but it’s making a lot of money for me and I have ZERO interest in sharing anything (beyond these posts) with anyone. The LAST thing I want is everyone copying my trades and bidding up the things I want to buy before I do.
- I know what you’re thinking – “wow this jerk is making money and he’s being selfish with his apps” but the thing is that these apps are entirely customized for my investment portfolio. It has my capital constraints, my goals, my risk tolerance, my strategy, my fears and loathings, etc. It is designed for me and not you but don’t fret, AI can help you become a better investor as long as you take the first step like I did and start learning and using it.
I will start running my new app alongside the other apps every day and place the best trades for the day and continue to grow my portfolio.
