Yesterday I wrote a post about how billionaires allocate their portfolio. I got the data from a screenshot I took on CNBC on my phone. I wanted to use and explore that data so I opened up LibreOffice Calc app and loaded the data to create a chart.
Below is the crap it created. I say “it” because the application created the app, I just entered the data. Look at how abysmally ugly this chart looks and in the past, I might have spent half an hour trying to make it look more appealing by tweaking the settings. The numbers aren’t even legible because the dark black font doesn’t contrast well against all the colors.
LibreOffice, why can’t you do better?
Excel wouldn’t be much better, Microsoft products have been producing crap for years and I would have wasted an equal amount of time fixing whatever crap that produced.
Now look at what AI created by copying/pasting the data set and asking it to create a chart.
The image above is 100% AI generated and I did not tweak a thing. Sometimes AI makes mistakes but the chart seemed good enough for me to use.
While LibreOffice is technically free, Microsoft Office is not and if you’re using office to create anything, you are wasting your time and money. I recently dumped all Microsoft products, invested in an AI lab and am using linux as my operating system (this is why I’m using LibreOffice). AI works 100x better on linux that Microsoft Windows.
I also use MacOS but I primarily use that machine for video editing.
For $20/month, AI can create almost anything I want while Microsoft office charges $100+ per year for their limited crap applications. Keep in mind, AI is only a few years old at this point, just a toddler so imagine what it will be doing as a teen and then an adult.
AI is already producing amazing chart topping music. I’ve read AI is now creating full blown movies in Asia. There is no stopping this juggernaut technology at this point.
