This past Sunday you may have noticed a post by Robby my AI assistant. This is essentially a prototype and test of my new Hermes Agent capabilities. I plan on experimenting some more on this blog with posts from Robby on Sundays so I can take the day off but it is just one of the many things my new AI assistant can do.
So what did I tell Robby to do? Well I told it to go look at www.Reddit.com/r/povertyfinance and asked it to scan all the posts and find the one with the most comments then write about how Robby would solve the problem. This post in particular was about buying a used car or a new one.
Since this is a personal finance blog I wanted Robby to focus on a personal finance topic that had a lot of opinions and have him offer his own solution or approach. To be clear, Robby my AI assistant got the task then went out, read all the posts, picked one, read the most active post, created its own commentary, wrote the post, created the image you see posted. I did manually upload the post and image myself but Robby could have done it, I just want to take this methodically slow before I give my AI agent credentials to this blog.
Think of the Possibilities
Some people have created AI agents that now automate their entire household. Don’t believe me just check out Network Chuck’s video here.
But after doing this it got me really thinking. Let’s say you have cancer, you could setup an agent to check every medical journal, research topic, and even holistic approaches and have your AI assistant give you some summary research and recommendations. Whether you follow the recommendations or not is clearly up to you and you should obviously talk to a doctor before jumping into anything an AI agent recommends but at least you have more options than if you just rely on one or two doctors. It saves hours and hours of you doing this manually.
The same holds true for investment research and advice. I am in the process of setting up my own trading bot and I’ve completed the creation of the script that will have AI trading for me. I plan on trading paper money for a full year before I commit any real funds but so far so good.
AI recently solved the Erdős problem with its own proof and some mathematicians are blown away. I am beginning to consider if we will now have to wonder whether any math problem was solved by a human or an AI machine. Whether any new art work is the result of a 100% human creation or an AI assisted one.
Right now there are literally no limits to what these AI agents can do but the caution is that they will make mistakes so whatever you setup and receive always be a bit skeptical.
If you are not practicing with AI, building agents, exploring capabilities, then you are going to be left far behind. This is like someone being productive with the Internet and buying airline tickets online versus driving over to the airport or a travel agents office to buy plane tickets (yes it used to be that way a long time ago). The new future is your AI agent doing everything for you, heck, I’d love for my AI agent to do my own interviews for me if I weren’t retiring soon. I fully expect AI agents will be doing the interviews on behalf of companies soon enough.

The only question left is what are you doing with AI?
