It’s time for another update. I’m taking a day of rest from day tripping all over the country I am in now. I have so far visited seven countries, some rather extensively, spending a month in one and I am halfway through another month in the other. At the end of September I will be returning to the Schengen zone.
Traveling with a U.S. passport means I only get 90 days in the Schengen zone and I burned through a third the first part of my trip. I’ve spent the last 45 days in non-schengen countries to visit other parts of Europe so it’s a win either way.
Update on Zepbound
I don’t have a scale so I don’t know my current weight but I do know that the new clothes I bought are starting to fit me loose. It’s not really the zepbound, I’m still taking my weekly shot but what is driving the weight loss now is walking.
I’m not talking about a stroll after dinner, I have to walk everywhere.
- Grocery stores – I have to walk there and I can only carry so much so it’s almost a daily trip.
- Restaurants – I have to walk there and back.
- Coffee shops – Walk!
- Shopping – I have to walk to the mall and back.
- Day Trips – I have to walk to the meeting point, then walk, walk, walk, for the most part, once we arrive at our destinations.
- Dentist – Walk. Yes, I got my teeth cleaned in Albania, only cost $40 and no insurance required.
- Pharmacy – Walk.
- Subway – Well I can ride the subway but I have to walk there and back.
- Buses – Same thing, I can walk there, ride, then I have to walk.
There have been a few places too far to walk so I use Bolt or other ride sharing service but that has been rare. Often it just makes more sense to walk than sit in traffic.
All that walking has probably made me lose another 10 lbs but I won’t know until I find a scale somewhere. I think I have seven vials of Zepbound left which should take me to end of October.
Investments
My investments are largely on autopilot. I do log on periodically to manage options positions but since most of my options are 30, 60, or 90 days out, I only have to do that once a month or less. There are things I am tempted to write about such as constantly pulling money from ATMs, how difficult international banking seems to be and related topics but I’m just going to enjoy life for now.
Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying
There’s a scene in the Shawshank Redemption movie where Red says, “get busy living or get busy dying” and I’ve been taking that to heart and been busy living. I should have done this a long time ago. I should be back in the US by early November.
October will be pretty intense for me as I have three countries in Europe to visit and then I’m heading to the Caribbean to visit a few more. I may or may not have time to write posts but I have been reading some of Robby’s posts and I like them. I’ve learned something new from each post that I didn’t know before especially the international personal finance views.
I know at least one reader didn’t like Robby posts but you can’t please every one all the time and I have no intention of trying. I’m enjoying life as it should be and when I’m ready to blog some more I’ll come back and write.
